SEMINARS

A SEMINAR is useful at any time, but the delegate must feel ready to start planning for life changes.

Our Mid-Career events are best delivered to those people who want to put their plans in place early, say from age 40 onwards, whilst the Pre-Retirement events suit those within 5 years of their retirement. Financial Planning seminars are suitable at any age and especially useful for those under risk of redundancy or severance who want to find out about their pensions and finances.

IN - HOUSE SEMINARS

Ideally for 15 - 20 delegates (no more than 25 unless it’s a 1-day event). We ask that the company provides a suitable training room large enough to accommodate the delegates comfortably, plus the necessary equipment, e.g. Overhead Projector, Flip Chart, PowerPoint. Ideally refreshments and lunches should also be provided.

Companies can choose the whole or part of the seminar programme to suit their employees. Early Planning (Mid Career) events are usually 1 day, whilst Pre-Retirement can be 1, 1½ or 2 days depending on client needs and Financial Planning seminars can be run over ½ or 1 day. We recommend the invitation of partners to these events.

SPEAKERS

PRE RETIREMENT SEMINAR

We invite a team of excellent presenters to complement the structure of the seminar. Several of these are actually retired persons who obviously have firsthand knowledge of the issues involved in preparing for this time of life. The Independent Financial Advisors who form part of our team, provide an educational presentation that does not include any "hard sell" on either specific financial products or on their services, although an invitation to seek their advice on an individual basis, is offered to delegates during the event. Whether this offer is taken up is entirely the decision of the delegate and they will not be pushed to do so.

Please look at our Sample Programme page to see the subjects we may cover.

"This event has been extremely valuable. It has given me a lot of food for thought. I'm glad I did it a few years before retirement"

TESTIMONIALS

“Doncaster Council has been working with PREP for over nine years. PREP generally deliver a one day combined Pre-Redundancy and Pre-Retirement event for Council staff. Schools teaching staff are also welcome to attend these events too and PREP are happy to amend the content / format of events to suit our particular needs.

They also work closely with the Local Government Pension team to ensure the best information is included in the content of the events they deliver.

The events receive positive feedback from those who attend. The organisers (Lorraine and Jane) are professional and provide well co-ordinated sessions with very relevant speakers who are also well received by attendees.

PREP are happy to work with neighbouring Councils that maybe providing similar sessions to help promote events which is especially useful for people who want to attend a session at a time that suits them.

We are happy to continue using PREP and hope this information is useful to you.”

“Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust has been working with PREP for seven years. PREP delivers Pre-Retirement programmes for Trust staff and over the last two years they have delivered 22 courses with 344 staff attending.

The courses are popular, receiving excellent feedback from staff who have participated on the programme.
Lorraine and Jane are professional, organised and co-ordinate the events to a high level. The speakers who contribute to the courses are also very well received by staff attending.

Staff who are thinking about or who have decided on retiring find the course to be informative, a learning experience and fun!

I recommend PREP to you.”

Denise Harrison

“I’m just e mailing to say how much I enjoyed the pre-retirement seminar this week. It’s given me lots of food for thought and lots of useful information.

I am recommending this seminar to my colleagues who are nearing that certain age.”

NUH Delegate

“West Yorkshire Police has been working with PREP for nearly two years. PREP delivers Pre-Retirement programmes for Police Officers and Police Staff, and over this period they have delivered a number of courses where all of the feedback received has very much been from a positive perspective. Delegates have found the seminars to be informative, relevant and fun, encouraging people to find it a less daunting experience of what is a substantial change in lifestyle.

Lorraine and Jane are professional, organised and co-ordinate the events to a high standard. The speakers who contribute to the courses are also very well received by attending delegates.

I happily recommend PREP to you.”

Simone Cleeve
Equality & Diversity

“Lorraine Howie, from Pre Retirement Consultant Services Ltd, has been delivering a 2 day Pre-Retirement course twice a year at The Sheffield College since 2004.

This course has always been fully attended by staff and the evaluations positive. It is delivered by professional consultants who have a wealth of knowledge of their specialist subject area. The training is informative, engaging and very useful to staff.

Staff have requested places more than once, sometimes a few years before retirement and then again just before retiring.

I can fully recommend this training provider as being professional and discerning in their field.”

Staff Development, Hillsborough Barracks

“I have worked with Lorraine and PREP for a long time – almost 20 years, I believe.

The services they provide are absolutely first class. Both Lorraine and Jane pay great attention to detail to ensure that each and every attendee on their programmes has an interesting and worthwhile learning experience. They are flexible in their approach so that they meet any organisational requirements and the result is an excellent programme.

I always believe that staff will get up-to-date and accurate information from any of the speakers that contribute to the programme and I would recommend Pre Retirement Consultant Services Ltd unreservedly.”

Janet Wilson,
Learning and Development Facilitator, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
